NEWS RELEASE: Seaside Fire and Rescue sends 3 personnel to help fight fire in California.
Seaside, Ore. – October 27, 2019 – Early Sunday Morning Seaside Fire and Rescue sent a Type 6 Engine to join Columbia County Strike Team # 4, along with 14 other strike teams, and nearly 300 personnel from the Oregon fire service, are deploying to assist with the response to California wildfires. California made the request through a state-to-state mutual aid system. Teams will be gathering later today at a staging site in Northern California.
NEWS RELEASE: Seaside, OR. At approximately 8:34 p.m. on March 28, Seaside Fire & Rescue responded to a fire at The Laundry Mat, located at 1223 S. Roosevelt in Seaside. NEWS RELEASE: Fire season officially ends, permits still required for burn barrels and piles in Seaside Fire Protection areas
Seaside, Ore. – October 11, 2017 – The Oregon Department of Forestry, Astoria District announced today that the 2017 Fire Season has officially ended. With the end of fire season, logging operations are no longer subject to fire protection laws, such as maintaining fire equipment at logging sites. This area includes all state, private and BLM forest lands in the Northwest Oregon Area, which includes the Astoria, Tillamook and Forest Grove Districts of the Oregon Department of Forestry.
Please note, for those residing in the City of Seaside and the Seaside Rural Fire Protection District, burning of yard debris is now allowed by use of burn barrels or burn piles from sunrise until sunset. Permits must be obtained by contacting Seaside Fire and Rescue at (503) 738-5420 or visiting the office during regular business hours. If you obtained a permit dated for 2017, it is good through the end of the calendar year.

Seaside, Ore. – October 11, 2017 – Early Wednesday Clatsop County mobilized a Strike Team of type 6 Brush Rigs and departed for Northern California to help with the complex fires burning near Santa Rosa California.
Regular Fire Season

Seaside, Ore. – Regular Fire Season is back in effect.
With the threat of dangerous fire weather subsiding we are reverting to normal fire season restrictions. Burn barrels are once again allowed from Sunrise to 10am with a valid permit. Recreational fires are still allowed as long as you follow the stipulations.Open debris burning is still banned.
