On July 1, 2022, Seaside Fire & Rescue's ISO rating of Class 2 will go in to effect for those living within City limits and rural protection area.
Of the more than 49,000 departments in the country, ISO lists only 1,243 Class 2 agencies (which puts Seaside in the top 2%). ISO’s grading scale ranges from 1 to 10, with 1 being the most difficult to achieve.

If you live within five (5) miles of a station and 1,000’ of a hydrant, the rating is a Public Protection Class 2.
CLASS 2
Any address located further than five (5) miles from a fire station has a Protection Class of 10.
