Resident Volunteer Program

Seaside Fire & Rescue is now recruiting for it's resident volunteer program. We are filling open positions and establishing a eligibility list for future hires. Residents are expected to be enrolled full time in college for a Fire Science degree or related Public Safety program. No previous fire experience or certifications are required, Applicants must have a valid Oregon drivers license by start date. Residents work a 48/96 schedule. You will receive a reimbursement of up to $1500 a term for tuition, books, and fees. Tuition Reimbursements increase in years 2 and 3 of the program if eligible.

What to Expect

Our program is designed to get you on the job experience to prepare you for a career in the fire service. While on shift you will have a seat on the first due fire apparatus for all calls and will work alongside career and volunteer firefighters. We provide your own private room during your entire stay in the program. You are expected to work your required shifts as well as attend school full time and in return you will earn extremely valuable on the job experience. While in our program you will have the opportunity to obtain multiple certifications.
